This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information through fairmaxlaw.com, our website forms and embedded intake tools, our debt calculator, and related communications, including our transactional text messaging program.
Our duties concerning client and prospective-client information also depend on applicable law, professional obligations, and any engagement agreement. This policy does not reduce those duties.
The information involved depends on the service you use and the details you provide. A service-specific notice may provide additional information for a particular interaction. This policy does not itself authorize access to your financial accounts, the release of records by someone else, or the recording of a communication.

When a person you authorize assists with your inquiry, we may receive information from that person. Providers supporting our website, intake, call handling, or communications may also supply information associated with your interaction, such as form details, delivery information, or advertising attribution. Receiving contact information from another source does not, by itself, establish the recipient’s consent to Fairmax Law’s SMS program.
Communication information can include inquiries, appointment activity, call or message timing, delivery information, and your communication preferences. Where recording, transcription, or automated assistance is used, processing is subject to the notice and consent requirements that apply to that communication. This policy itself does not provide consent to record a call.

The use of an automated tool does not itself establish that an attorney has reviewed the information.

We seek an affirmative opt-in, such as your selection of a separate, unchecked SMS consent box. Providing a phone number, submitting a form, or accepting general website terms does not by itself enroll you in our recurring SMS program.
Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell or rent mobile numbers. We do not sell, rent, or transfer text messaging originator opt-in data or SMS consent to another business for its independent use. Consent is specific to Fairmax Law and the messages described when you opt in.
Limited processing by providers that operate our messaging service, and disclosures required by law, do not authorize those recipients to send their own marketing or reuse your consent. These protections apply even where another section of this policy permits disclosure of other categories of information.
Reply STOP to a Fairmax Law text to opt out at any time. After an opt-out, you may receive one confirmation message, and further program messages will stop unless you affirmatively opt in again. Information about consent and opt-outs is used as appropriate to document your choices, operate the program, honor suppression requests, and meet applicable requirements. An opt-out record may need to remain even when other information is deleted so that the number is not re-enrolled without a new affirmative choice.

Retention depends on the purpose of the information, the status of an inquiry or engagement, applicable recordkeeping or preservation obligations, and the need to document and honor communication choices. We may need to retain information after an inquiry closes or an engagement ends for those purposes. This policy does not establish a fixed retention period for every category of information.
Deletion requests are subject to applicable obligations and exceptions. A request may not extend to records independently held by a court, a recipient, or another organization. Any information we continue to hold remains subject to the applicable protections described in this policy.
No website, transmission method, or storage system can guarantee complete security. SMS messages can be visible to anyone with access to your device or phone account. Protect your account credentials, review the recipients of sensitive communications, and contact our team for an appropriate way to exchange sensitive documents or discuss confidential details. If you suspect misuse of information supplied to Fairmax Law, report it using the contact details below. Applicable security and incident-notification obligations continue to apply.
Information may be processed in the United States and in other locations where our providers operate, subject to applicable requirements.
You can contact us to correct contact details, change communication preferences, or make a privacy request. Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of certain personal information; restrict particular processing; opt out of applicable advertising, sale, or sharing activities; or appeal a response to a privacy request. Listing a possible right does not mean every right applies to every person or interaction.
We will evaluate requests under applicable law and may need information sufficient to verify your identity or an authorized representative’s authority. Some records may need to be retained or withheld from disclosure because of legal obligations, confidentiality, privilege, the rights of other people, or applicable exceptions. Requests may also need clarification so we can identify the relevant information. We will not penalize you for exercising rights provided by applicable law.

Our website is intended for people seeking legal information or services and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13 through this website. If you believe a child has provided information inappropriately, contact us so we can address it under applicable requirements.
